About Medical Research
A medical research study is health-related clinical research for people with a specific condition to see how safe a potential new treatment is and how well it may work for people with that condition.
Why Participate?
There is no guarantee that study participants will receive any benefit from participating in these studies. However, participants may gain information about their disease and health. Also, these research studies may provide future benefits to people with high triglycerides by helping answer questions about the effectiveness and safety of the investigational drugs.
Voluntary Participation and Informed Consent
Participation in a research study is completely voluntary. In all research studies, potential participants are first informed about the research study in detail. After receiving this information, all participants must give their consent in writing to proceed and participate by signing an Informed Consent Form prior to any study-related procedures occurring. Some research studies involve more tests and doctor visits than the participant would normally have for an illness or condition.
Privacy and Confidentiality
You have a choice to submit your contact information to the study center. If you make the choice to submit your contact information, your contact information will only be shared with those involved with these research studies and will not be shared or provided to any other person or business not related to these particular research studies.
